Todds

Around the age of 2, children at BlueSkies for Children are usually ready for the new challenges and experiences of the Todds classroom. The Todds program supports the developmental need to explore the relationship of self and others.

In The Classroom

Play situations are structured “in parallel” so children can play near, rather than with each other, maximizing success and minimizing conflict as children are increasingly interested in peers but lack the language and social skills to mediate play. Dramatic play emerges, with Todds often acting out the behavior they observe and want to understand in the confusing bigger world of school, home, and family.  Todds remain physically driven and so the environment encourages the use of their bodies. They learn best by doing.
